YMCA Cheetahs compete in regional track meet, qualify for nationa

Fifteen members of the Cheetahs Track Team participated in the CCCNYC East Regional Championships track meet held November 4, 2018 at Tyler State Park, Newtown.

The cross country running team, ranging in age from 6 to 12, based out of the Doylestown branch of YMCA of Bucks County participated in events including 2k-5k distances, dependent upon age level.

Qualifying for nationals based on their performance at the meet include Isha Awasthi (9:21.7, girls 2k distance), Aarav Awasthi (14:07.7, boys 3k distance), Cadel Barker (9:01.8, boys 2k distance), Aubrey Zuiderhof (11.46.0, girls 2k distance) and Lily Zuiderhof (10:14.3 girls 2k distance). The National Youth Championships is scheduled for November 17, 2018 in Louisville, KY.

Also participating in the meet were Safiya Benjelloun, Salman Benjelloun, Ella Denicore, Joey Gainer, Emilia Harrison and Elijah Barker. Coaches include Dana Zuiderhof, Caitlin Shelley, Crystal Barker and Nichole Eagan.
