Bob Ottey, Longtime Hatboro Police Officer, Dies At 69
The borough said Ottey passed away suddenly at his home on the Fourth of July.

HATBORO, PA — Robert A. Ottey, Jr., a police officer in Hatboro for more than four decades, died Thursday, the borough has announced. He was 69.
The borough said Ottey passed away suddenly at his home on the Fourth of July.
Ottey joined the Hatboro Police Department in 1971, after serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served as a patrol officer, earning the title of Senior Patrol Officer before his retirement. After retiring, Ottey returned to the department and had been serving as a parking enforcement officer and school crossing guard at Crooked Billet Elementary School.

"Bob, on behalf of Mayor Guenst, Borough Council, your co-workers, Crooked Billet students, residents and business community, thank you for your service to Hatboro and our Country," the borough said in a Facebook post. "You will be missed."
According to his obituary, Ottey was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and loved all animals.

Funeral services for Ottey have been set for Friday, July 12, at Schneider Funeral Home, at 431 York Rd. in Hatboro.
Family will receive relatives and friends at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ottey's memory to the Aark Wildlife Center, 1531 Upper Stump Rd., Chalfont, PA 18914.
