“The Cavani Music Residency will be an enriching experience for our students and community,” Nancy DeLucia, Executive Director, Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, said in a statement. “Bringing the talents and compassion of violinists Annie Fullard and Mari Sato, violist Kirsten Docter and cellist Merry Peckham to the community supports the mission of the HHEF and we are very excited to watch the students interact with these talented female musicians.”

“Our goal, when we perform for young people is we want them to understand how much fun we have doing it and that it’s something that might be cool for them to try,” said Cavani’s cellist, Merry Peckham.

The Cavani String Quartet, the quartet-in-residence at the renowned Cleveland Institute of Music since 1988 and winner of numerous accolades, including the prestigious Naumburg Award, has been working with teachers and administrators in the Hatboro-Horsham School District to design a unique residency program to invigorate, teach, and inspire students in existing strings programs and to encourage greater participation in music programs throughout the district.

Over the course of the residency, Cavani will perform two concerts at each of the five elementary schools, engage middle school strings students through an “Outside the Box” workshop, and work throughout the week with the high school strings students.
