Former Horsham Ambulance Corp. Captain Dies At 83

Charles E. McGrath, 83, was the former captain of the Horsham Ambulance Corp. who served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

HORSHAM, PA — Charles E. McGrath, of Horsham, died Tuesday, Novomber 14. He was 83.

Charles was the loving husband of Dorothy (Caldwell) McGrath, with whom he had shared 61 years of marriage.

He graduated from Northeast High School in 1951. He served during the Korean War in the United States Army, receiving the good conduct medal. He was employed by Reit Fuel and J&J Automotive.

Charles was a life member of the Horsham Fire Company and a former captain of the Horsham Ambulance Corp.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, his two grandsons Kevin and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son Charles, Jr., his daughter in law Barbara, his daughter Jean; and his brothers Richard and Francis

His family will receive relatives and friends after 10 am, Monday, November 20, in James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W. Montgomery Ave, (half block west of York Rd) Hatboro, where his funeral service will be held at 11am. His interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery.
