Hatboro-Horsham Prepare For Winter Storm
Officials have declared a snow emergency, with forecasts calling for a much as 11 inches of snow starting on Sunday.

HATBORO, PA — Officials in Hatboro and Horsham have declared a snow emergency as the region prepares for a winter storm that could bring as much as 11 inches of snow.
In Hatboro, the emergency will be in place starting at noon Sunday. Everyone who lives on a snow-emergency route must move their cars off of the street and all residents are asked to park in driveways when possible.
"Doing this helps our public works employees plow curb to curb," borough officials said in a social media post.

Portable basketball nets and other items should be removed from right of ways.
"Please be patient with our staff," officials said in the post. "They will be working once the snow starts around the clock until our roads are plowed."

As of Sunday morning, the borough still planned to collect trash and recycling on Monday. They were taking a wait-and-see approach to Tuesday and encouraged residents to watch the borough's social media pages for updates.
Residents were encouraged to shovel sidewalks within 24 hours of the snow stopping, check on elderly neighbors and remove snow around fire hydrants.

Horsham authorities were making similar warnings, with the snow emergency set to run through 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Forecasters have increased snowfall accumulation predictions, now saying as much as 11 inches could fall in suburban Philadelphia.
The National Weather Service issued the watch, which is in place starting at 6 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
"Heavy snow possible," the watch alert states. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches are expected and winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
