Hatboro, Horsham Storm Updates: Snow Emergency Declared

HORSHAM, PA -- Hatboro Borough and Horsham Township has declared a Snow Emergency effective at 6 p.m. Friday, as snow swiftly blanketed the region and the inches began piling up overnight into Saturday.
During the Hatboro-Horsham Winter Storm Emergency, parking will not be permitted on designated Snow Emergency Routes, and these roads are also restricted to vehicles with four wheel drive or snow chains. Vehicles left parked on these designated Snow Emergency Routes will be ticketed and towed if the owners cannot be located, according to officials.

- *Byberry Avenue from South York Road to Borough line
- *E. County Line Road from North York Road to Warminster Road
- *W. County Line Road from North York Road to Borough line
- *Horsham Road from South York Road to Borough line
- *Jacksonville Road from E. Moreland Avenue to E. County Line Road
- *E. Montgomery Avenue from York Road to Jacksonville Road
- *W. Moreland Avenue from York Road to Borough line
- *E.. Moreland Avenue from York Road to Jacksonville Road
- *S. Penn Street from Byberry Avenue to E. Moreland Avenue
- *S. Warminster Road from Mill Road to E. Moreland Avenue
- *N. Warminster Road from E. Moreland Avenue to E. County Line Road
- *S. York Road from Newington Drive to Moreland Avenue
- *N. York Road from Moreland Avenue to County Line Road
Horsham Township Library will be closed on Saturday, January 23. Overdue fines will not be assessed for this day. Additionally, most items can be renewed online.
Horsham declared a snow emergency this week in 2015, almost exactly one year ago.

Several other local municipalities have also declared snow emergencies.

- The National Weather Service has upgraded the Blizzard Watch to a Blizzard Warning, advising all residents to prepare now. The Blizzard Warning, which is issued when serious winter weather is imminent, begins at 7 p.m. Friday.
- Philadelphia International Airport has cancelled all flights on Saturday, when the worst of the storm will be passing through the region.
- SEPTA announced it will suspend service Saturday for at least 24 hours.
- Montgomery County has closed parks, trails,and historic sites across the county.
- Snowfall started in Southeastern Pennsylvania Friday evening at about 7 p.m.
- As much as 18 inches could fall through Sunday, the National Weather Service predicts.
