Malone reportedly chose to sing “Part of Your World,” a song from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, during the talent portion of the local preliminary of the Miss America Pageant.

Despite being from Montgomery County, Malone was able to win the Bucks County title because the two residency requirements each contestant needs to fulfill is to be from Pennsylvania in the sixth months prior to the pageant and to be a full-time student in the state during the fall semester.
