Hatboro Man, Police Academy And Culinary School Grad, Dies At 44
"A master of many skills," according to his obituary, Hatboro's Dan Cairns, 44, was remembered for his many passions and his selflessness.

HATBORO, PA — Daniel O. Cairns, Jr., of Hatboro, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018. He was 44. Born in Abington, Dan was the firstborn son of Daniel O. Cairns, Sr. and Marianne Cairns (nee Balaicuis). He was the loving fiancé of Jennifer Cox, and supportive father to his two step-children, Kiersten and Justin.
A man of varied interests and master of many skills, Dan was a graduate of the Police Academy and Culinary School, and worked in construction and landscaping. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and gardening. He loved all animals, especially his pets, and raised his own chickens. Dan was selfless, always willing to do anything for anybody. He loved helping others so much, that he was able to save lives even in his death by being a Gift of Life organ donor.

In addition to his parents, fiancé, and step-children, Dan is survived by his siblings, Steven Cairns (Jennifer), Tim Cairns (Kate), and Erin Cairns Cella (Christopher); his step-grandmother, Barbara Balaicuis; his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Natalie, Juliet, Annabelle, and Miles; his future in-laws, Gary and Linda Hawkins, Michael Hawkins (Christine), and Quinn Benedict (Christopher); as well as many other family members and friends.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 after 9:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N York Road, Hatboro. His interment will be held privately.
