Hatboro Station Trail Lighting Project Awarded $125K Grant

The grant money will be used to install solar powered, pedestrian-scaled streetlights along the trail, according to borough officials.

HATBORO, PA — The Montgomery County Commissioners recently awarded the Borough of Hatboro with a 2021 Montco 2040 Implementation grant. The funding will benefit the Hatboro Station Trail lighting project, according to Hatboro officials.

The $125,300 in grant funding will be used to install solar powered, pedestrian-scaled streetlights along the trail adjacent to Hatboro Station/Station Park/SEPTA Regional Rail Line.

"The Borough of Hatboro would like to thank the Montgomery County Commissioners for awarding this project to the Borough and we are extremely excited to install this lighting along the trail!" officials said on the borough's official Facebook page.

The trail serves as a direct connection to the SEPTA regional rail station from the south end of town. Borough officials said the lighting will allow pedestrians and bicyclists to safely use the trail at night. The project will also further improve accessibility throughout the borough and improve connectivity in town.
