HHSD Staff Participate in Wreaths Across America

National Wreaths Across America Day is a movement to cover all grave markers of Veterans with a Christmas wreath.

National Wreaths Across America Day is a movement to cover all grave markers of Veterans with a Christmas wreath. It is observed the third Saturday of December by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations across the United States. Hatboro-Horsham School District Teachers Erin McGovern and Tammy Van Steenburgh recently organized a community service event for HHSD staff at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Following a brief ceremony, the group walked to various sections of the cemetery to place wreaths on the grave markers of those who served.

Washington Crossing National Cemetery is the fourth national cemetery established in Pennsylvania and the 131st in the national cemetery system.
