Horsham Boil Water Advisory Forces Closure Of Schools, Businesses
Restaurants and bars must close unless they can provide an alternate water source.

HORSHAM, PA -- In the wake of Horsham's boil water advisory issued yesterday, restaurants and bars within a certain area must close unless they can provide an alternate water source.
The boil water advisory is due to a malfunction in the disinfection system at one of the operating wells. Residents should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.
Customers of the Horsham water system within the area bounded by Limekiln Pike, County Line, Blair Mill and Welsh Roads should boil their water before consuming. Restaurants and bars located within the zone outlined below must close.

Impacted businesses may remain open if they provide an alternative source, such as a licensed drinking water tanker truck.
Retail food facilities may remain open, but can only sell prepackaged items.

For residents, a water truck is stationed at Hrosham Library for anyone to come get safe drinking and cooking water. Residents must bring their own containers to be filled.
The issue shut down the Hatboro-Horsham School District on Friday.
If you live within the area, be sure to bring water to a boil and let it boil for two minutes before letting it cool and using.
The advisory is a precautionary measure until lab results confirm the issue is resolved, the Water & Sewer Authority said.
Residents will be notified, and businesses may reopen, when the boil water advisory is over.
