Horsham Fire Marshal Gives Firework-Law Tips
The fire marshal in Horsham shared some tips with residents about Pennsylvania's new fireworks laws.

HORSHAM, PA — On the eve of the Fourth of July, the fire marshal in Horsham shared some tips with residents about Pennsylvania's new fireworks laws.
According to the fire marshal's office, the following types of fireworks may now be legally purchased:
- Aerial Devices: bottle rockets, helicopter/aerial spinners, roman candles.
- Audible Ground Devices: firecrackers and chasers.
- Ground and hand-held sparkling devices: cylindrical fountains, cone fountains, illuminating torches, spinning wheels, ground spinners, flitter sparklers/morning glories, toy smoke devices, and wire sparklers/stick sparklers.
The following fireworks still remain illegal to buy, possess or set off in Pennsylvania:

- M-80s
- M-100s
- Quarter-sticks
- Half-sticks
- Cherry bombs
- You must be 18 years or older to purchase, possess and use fireworks.
- You must be at least 150 feet away from any structure or vehicle (occupied or not). You must have permission from the property owner.
- You cannot use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance or illegal drugs.
Any violation of the above laws can result in a fine or arrest, the fire marshal's office said.
