HORSHAM, PA — Horsham Township officials this week filled in curious motorists wondering what's up with the construction site at the intersection of Dresher and Horsham roads.

The busy intersection is going to get new, state-of-the-art traffic signals, as well as improvements to sidewalks and other features for pedestrians. It's going to take a while, though.

In a social media post, Horsham Township officials said they had to begin construction at the intersection in May so they wouldn't lose grant money for the project. But — thanks, in part, to the coronavirus — they're still waiting on poles for the new signals to be delivered.

That's going to more than seven months now, officials said.

"Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, this intersection will look like a construction zone for a while," officials said in the post. "As soon as the poles are delivered, the project will reignite with energy and effort and, soon, the new modern signals, sidewalks, and island planting will create a great look and feel to the area."
