Katie Harrington, a Horsham Little League softball player, who started the 'Play It Forward' initiative as her Girl Scout Silver Award project discussed the inspiriation for the program, saying, "In almost every sport I have played over the years there are often players who don't necessarily have all their own equipment, particularly with all the gear needed for softball and baseball. On other hand, some families have equipment that is just sitting around that has been outgrown and goes unused. 'Play It Forward' is focused on getting the equipment around our community that is just sitting in closets and on shelves into the hands of players who can put it to good use on the playing field."
