Horsham Man Organizing 2nd Toys For Tots Motorcycle Ride (ICYMI)
The Toys for Tots Glenside chapter serves lower western Bucks and eastern Montgomery counties, providing free toys for needy families.

HORSHAM, PA — It may be hard to believe, but Toys for Tots season is almost upon us.
On Oct. 1, the Glenside chapter of Toys for Tots, which provides toys to more than 1,000 families in lower western Bucks and eastern Montgomery counties, will be up and running again. Guy Vogel, assistant coordinator for the group — which operates out of a warehouse on Gibraltar Road in Horsham Township — said he needs all the help he can get.
"Our shelves aren't even stocked yet," Vogel said in a release from the group. "I've had nobody coming in. It's been very slow going."

The chapter will get some help from a motorcycle ride planned for the second year in a row. Organized by John Davis, of Horsham, the ride begins at 11 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Hannum's Harley-Davidson, at 3255 State St. in Sellersville.
It will end with lunch at Bikes Built Better, at 133 Horsham Rd. in Horsham.

"There's no way of knowing how many will come out," Davis said in the release. "I was surprised last year that we had something like 30 bikers show up and a couple of cars."
Riders can register for the ride beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Hannum's Harley-Davidson. Cost to participate is either $10 or one unwrapped toy. Horsham Police will escort ride participants to make sure the group can stay together for the ride.
Davis, a Navy veteran and Patriot Guard rider, has been involved with Toys for Tots since 2006.
Formerly of Delaware, Davis participated annually in a 30-mile motorcycle toy drive in Ocean City, Md.
When he relocated to the greater Philadelphia area, Davis says he looked to get involved with a ride here, but
discovered a similar ride did not exist. So, last year he created his own.
