Lehman UMC will celebrate graduating seniors, award scholarships

A scholarship fund established in 1993 will provide funding for five seniors as they graduate high school and pursue the next step.

Lehman Memorial United Methodist church will celebrate its graduating seniors and Sunday School teachers during this Sunday's services.

Sunday School teachers and assistants will be recognized during the 9:30 a.m. service, while high school seniors will be celebrated during the 11 a.m. service. Five seniors will receive the Isabel Lyttle Scholarship, established at Lehman in 1993 to help defray the costs of post-high school education.

Lehman activities: Disciple Singers, youth group student leader

About Lehman: “Lehman has helped me find myself in God and realize how loved and cherished I am by Him. My faith walk will continue because I will take the learnings from Lehman and carry them with me always.”

Outside Lehman: Air Force JROTC, North Penn HS Link Crew, Girl Scouts, Chosen 300

About Lehman: “Before I took confirmation, I had trouble trying to understand and believe in God. However, after taking the class, I had a much clearer understanding of God and believed much more.”

About Lehman: “Lehman has helped me find exactly what I believe in. There are so many interpretations of the Bible and I believe that Lehman has put me on the right path for spiritual success.”

Outside Lehman: Help run Special Olympics at school, hockey team fundraisers, Boy Scout community projects, HH Minithon

Other graduating seniors include Casey Ralston (Hatboro-Horsham High School), Dana Rafferty (William Tennant High School), Andreas Baskwill (Temple University).

Lehman's confirmation leaders are Georgi Bernard and Jim Schneider.

Lehman offers traditional services each Sunday at 8:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. and a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Certified staff supervises the nursery during the 9:30 a.m. service when Sunday School for all ages is also offered.
