No New Bear Sightings In Horsham
Police noted that a similar black bear was spotted in a neighborhood in Warrington later on Monday.
HORSHAM, PA — Authorities in Horsham believe the black bear that was sited in the township Sunday and Monday may have moved along.
"There have been no additional sightings of the bear in Horsham Township," Horsham Community Police Services said in a social media post.
The bear was first spotted Sunday in the area of the power line trail near Whetstone Road and was seen Sunday afternoon and Monday at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station.

The police post noted that a black bear was spotted later Monday in a neighborhood in Warrington. While it's not known if that was the same bear, police said it's not uncommon for a black bear to travel several miles in a day.
According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, about 20,000 black bears lived in the state as of 2015. In Pennsylvania, they usually mate from early June to mid-July, the commission said.

The commission says bear attacks are extremely rare and that, if you encounter one, you should make noise to alert it, back slowly away from it and try to remain calm.
