Services Set For Hatboro Man Killed In Crash, Beloved Member Of Running Community

Karl Castor, 66, a beloved member of the running community, was a "brother, father, a mentor, a coach, and grandfather to all of us."

HATBORO, PA — Services for a Hatboro man and beloved member of the local running community will be held on Friday.

Karl Castor, 66, was killed in a crash on Street Road on Aug. 30.

Castor was a running coach and longtime employee of the North Wales Running Company.

All Kinds of Fast in Phoenixville, a sister store, will be closed Friday for the funeral service.

"Karl leaves behind bigger shoes to fill than his normal 12.5s. Karl has been with us longer than anyone on staff. He was each a brother, father, a mentor, a coach, and grandfather to all of us," North Wales Running Company said in a heartfelt Facebook post commemorating Castor.

Karl F. Castor of Hatboro died suddenly on August 30, 2017. He was 66. He was the husband of 28 years to Maggie (Bevard) Castor. He was the father of Michelle Burchett (Jeremy) and Douglas Castor (Alexis). Grandfather of Brianna, Jeremy Jr. and Zachary. Brother of Kathleen Holland and the late John Castor. Relatives and friends may greet the family, Friday 10:30 – 11:45am at Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home 529 N York Road, Hatboro. Services 12 Noon. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donation to Kitty Junction Box 443 Horsham PA 19044 or Last Chance Ranch 9 Beck Road, Quakertown PA 18951 would be appreciated. There will be a celebration of Karl’s life at a later date. “King Karl” will be dearly missed by friends and family.
