Veteran Chef Serves Up Good Eats ... At Horsham Gas Station

HORSHAM, PA — When you're looking to chow down on some restaurant-quality food, your local Sunoco might not be your first destination. But a convenience store in Horsham is hoping to change that.

At Horsham Sunoco Deli and Grill, at the corner of Horsham Road and Limekiln Pike, ower Eddy Jahshan has ordered up gourmet cheeseburgers, cheesesteaks, fancy egg rolls, homemade soups and more to join the more traditional hoagies and wraps you might expect.

"It’s a gas station serving restaurant-quality food," Jahshan said.

To bring the vision to life, Jahshan hired Chris Forlano, a 35-year restaurant industry veteran, to be head chef at the store. Forlano oversees a menu of both fresh and heat-and-eat entrees like lasagna, beef stroganoff, meatloaf and mashed potatoes and more.

Before starting with Sunoco, Forlano worked in Italian restaurants and, most recently, had owned The Duck Deli BBQ in New Britain for 13 years.

"Eddy allows me to do what I do – run a restaurant and food station," Forlano said. "It’s a lot of family recipes."

Favorites like chicken wings and Italian roast pork sandwiches are mainstays on the Horsham convenience store's menu. But it also offers seasonal favorites like oven-roasted turkey for Thanksgiving, chili in the winter and two soups every day during cooler months.

Forlano slow cooks roast beef for the Wednesday pot roast sub special and barbecues ribs, pulled pork and other favorites for Thursdays.
