Willow Grove Fire Chief Dies At 67

WILLOW GROVE, PA — Lee Perlmutter, the longtime chief of Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company, died suddenly on Thursday, according to the company. He was 67.

"Lee was a dedicated member of the fire company who served his community for 50 years as a firefighter and over 35 of them in a leadership position and currently as our Fire Chief ...," the company said in a post on Facebook. "No words will ever do justice to the impact Lee has left on our community and the legacy he has left on the community and emergency services is unmatched by any words that can be written."

According to his obituary, Perlmutter "loved spending time with his family and singing their praises to anyone and everyone."

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and children Michael (Melissa) and Allie (Ryan), as well as his mother, Betty.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8, at 11:15 a.m. at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks North, at 3010 2nd Street Pike in Southampton. Family will begin receiving guests at 10:45 a.m. Internment will be private.

Shiva will be held at the late residence Sunday and Monday evenings. Contributions in Perlmutter's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
