$50,000 Reward In Cold Case: Bucks Co. Detectives Seek Info

Bristol Township Police found little to go on when Joy Hibbs was murdered in 1991; now her family has doubled their reward for information.

CROYDON, PA — Joy Hibbs of Croydon was murdered in 1991 by an assailant who also set fire to her home. Thirty years later, with no arrests made, her family has doubled the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

According to a story by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hibbs’ husband Charlie had offered a reward of $25,000 in May of this year. On Wednesday, the Inquirer said that David Hibbs — the Hibbs' son — and an unnamed family friend have now matched that amount, for a total pledge of $50,000 in the search for information on Joy Hibbs' murderer.

While the Bristol Township Police Department had worked on the case for years, none of their leads developed into an arrest. More recently, the Inquirer reported, the case was transferred to Bucks County’s detective division — though fresh reviews of the evidence also encountered roadblocks.
