Actress Elaine Bromka brings theatre workshops to Harry S. Truman High School.
Levittown - Elaine Bromka, a professional actress for over thirty years, brought two threatre workshops to Truman Drama on February 21. In the Acting on Camera and Acting for Singers workshops, students had a chance to hone their craft and learn from a pro. Bromka, well-known for her role as mom Cindy in the 1989 film Uncle Buck, has brought her one-day acting workshops to more than 150 high schools and colleges.
“Our students having the ability to learn from and make professional connections from such a talent was an amazing experience,” said Director and Educator Tracey Gatte. “They are learning how to enhance their talents and network at the same time.”
Gatte met Bromka at the EDTA Educators workshop this past fall in New York City, and Gatte’s students worked with Bromka at the Pennsylvania State Thespian Festival in January. The workshops were an extended opportunity for the students to work with Bromka on singing and acting on camera.
