Area Malls, NBC 10/WCAU Hosting Winter Weather Week Nov. 14-18

With the upcoming winter predicted to be rather harsh, several entities are teaming up to host a week-long series of event geared toward educating people on severe winter weather

NBC 10/WCAU and Greater Philadelphia area Simon Malls, Mills and Premium Outlets partner to host Severe Winter Weather Week beginning Monday, Nov. 14 through Friday, Nov. 18.

Day one of Severe Winter Weather Week kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Oxford Valley Mall, 2300 East Lincoln Highway, Langhorne.

As the most trusted source for weather in the Greater Philadelphia region and Lehigh Valley, the NBC10 First Alert Weather Team will visit five area Simon shopping centers with StormRanger10, the only X-band, dual polarized, Doppler Radar system on wheels.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the NBC10 First Alert Weather team; take an inside look at the new StormRanger10; receive giveaways; and obtain critical tips for severe winter weather preparedness.

"As we start to see falling temperatures, it’s important for us to inform the public on how best to prepare for winter weather," President and General Manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62 Ric Harris said. "We are excited to partner with Simon Malls for this weeklong tour throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. We look forward to engaging with the community and invite them to come meet our team and learn about the tools they use to forecast the weather for every neighborhood."
