BTSD Music Dept Premieres Spring Recital on YouTube

The Spring Recital premieres tonight at 7 p.m.!

To end the year on a high note, Bristol Township Music Department is showcasing the District’s musical talent to the community with the Spring Recital. The one-hour virtual recital will premiere on YouTube on Tuesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyStI5fuPQ0.

“We watched May go by and our concert dates pass, and we wanted to do something for the kids for the end of the year,” said Chris Gerhart, band director at FDR Middle School.

The recital features representation from every school in Bristol Township School District as well as performances and encouraging messages from faculty, students and alumni. Notable alumni include Crystal Torres from Beyonce’s horn section and Daniel Wright who performs with the Philly Pops orchestra and international recording artist Seal. Gerhart hopes the alumni will provide inspiration to the students and make them realize the opportunities they could pursue in the music field.

The recital was pre-recorded and edited by Chris Gerhart and Joe Marlow, music teacher at Armstrong Middle School. Everyone chose what songs they wanted to perform and audience members will be able to see their personalities shine.

“The recital brings us together and reminds us that music is a part of our school culture and community,” said Gerhart, who describes the overall concert as very eclectic.
