Carson Wentz-Themed Sandwich Is Back In Levittown
Part of the proceeds from the Eagles-inspired Wentzel Dip Sandwich will go to support local food banks.

PARKLAND, PA — The Eagles hit the field for real football on Sunday. And, in Levittown, a sandwich honoring their star quarterback is back on the menu — with proceeds going to charity.
Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint, in Parkland, introduced the Wentzel Dip Sandwich last year. Featuring chicken steak meat, tots, fried cheese curds and the sandwich shop's special beef-bison dip cream cheese spread on a pretzel roll, it honors Philly food tradition as well as Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz's South Dakota roots.
This week, as the Eagles prepare to take on Washington on Sunday, owner Jay Green has brought back the $11 sandwich. This year, it will be available every day, instead of just game days, which was the deal last season.

Owner Jay Green said he did have some second thoughts, seeing as how Wentz's 2018 campaign was marred by injury.
"I’m a very superstitious person and I didn’t want to bring the Wentzel back, but so many people have asked me about it and requested it back on the menu," he said. "I had to listen to the customers."

Like last year, proceeds from the sandwich will benefit local charity. Green said he will donate a portion of sales of the sandwich to Bucks County food banks. Last year, the Wentzel helped raise enough money to buy 400 pounds of meat, which was donated to the ERA Food Pantry in Levittown and the Bucks County Housing Group food pantry in Penndel.
Green has a history of donating to local food groups, but says he especially wanted to do so with the Wentzel to honor Wentz's own habit of supporting charities.
Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint is located at 1205 Highland Ave. in Parkland. For more information, or to see a menu, visit the shop's website.
