Falls Twp. Extends Outdoor Dining Rules

The township expanded outdoor dining in response to coronavirus restrictions limiting restaurant numbers indoors.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — As coronavirus concerns linger, supervisors in Falls Township have extended a resolution allowing more outdoor dining through Halloween.

Falls supervisors voted unanimously Monday to extend an outdoor-dining resolution they'd approved in mid-June. The resolution was in response to state reopening plans which limited, and continue to limit, capacity for indoor dining at restaurants.

The township's resolution was set to expire 90 days after it was adopted. With the extension, restaurants will be now able to offer outdoor dining through Oct. 31.

"That’s a no-brainer for me," supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence said, urging the community to continue supporting local businesses. "Do your best to keep shopping in Falls. (Businesses) are doing the best they can to stay afloat."

Extending the outdoor dining resolution was "the least we could do to help the business owners of Falls Township," said supervisors Vice Chairman Jeff Boraski.
