LANGHORNE, PA — Incumbent state Rep. Frank Farry, a Republican, had a sizable lead Wednesday morning over Democrat Lauren Lareau in the race for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives seat in the Levittown-based 142nd District.
At about 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Farry led Lareau by a vote of 21,859 to 11,076, with all of the district's precincts reporting unofficial results.

The incumbent's lead was solid, but could take at least a partial hit as county election workers count the mass of mail-in ballots cast in the election. In all of Bucks County, roughly 109,000 mail-in ballots remained to be counted Wednesday morning.
Figures provided this week by Bucks County showed that dramatically more registered Democrats voted by mail than Republicans.

The 142nd District includes Langhorne, Langhorne Manor, part of Middletown and Upper and Lower Southampton.
Farry, an attorney, has served in the office since 2009. He is a former assistant township manager in Middletown and volunteer fire chief with the Middletown-Langhorne Fire Co. During the campaign, Farry has highlighted his work helping secure coronavirus recovery funds and expanding senior prescription programs, as well as his success in authoring and co-authoring successful bills during his time in Harrisburg.
"Together we have done so much for our community, and I want to opportunity to work with you to do more," Farry said in a message to voters. "I'm asking for your vote so that I can go to Harrisburg and keep putting our community first."
Lareau has focused on her credentials as a mother, educator and small business owner. She owns a tutoring business and said she got more interested in politics when the Neshaminy school board voted to close Oliver Heckman Elementary, where her son attended, citing a lack of state education funding.
She's campaigned on lowering healthcare costs, protecting the environment, plugging a shortfall in state education funding and helping former students with student loan debt.
"It's been too long since Pennsylvania's 142nd House District had representation that shared our core values, and fought for the things that truly matter to us," Lareau said on her website.
Farry received a few hundred more votes than Lareau in this year's primaries, during which both ran unopposed for their nomination. In 2018, Farry defeated Lareau by a vote of 18,177 to 14,241.
