Former County Worker Sentenced For Stealing From Inmates

Mary Hotham, 72, of Warminster, received house arrest and community service for stealing more than $13,000.

A former county worker was sentenced to house arrest and community service for stealing from inmates at Bucks County Correctional Facility.

According to published reports, during her sentencing at the justice center in Doylestown on March 24, Mary Hotham stated she stole from the county and not inmates, despite her guilty plea.

The 72-year-old Warminster resident has to spend between six to 23 months under house arrest, received a year probation and has to perform 75 hours of community service.

According to court records, Hotham stole $13,447.45 between August 2012 and June 2014. She pleaded guilty in November.
