Levittown 4th Graders Write Stories About Living In Igloos
Some children came up with ideas such as making snow angels for beds, breaking ice to go ice fishing for food, and melting snow for water.

This month in Ms. Borst's fourth grade class [at Gardiners Avenue Elementary School], we incorporated the theme of winter into our creative writing! Each student wrote a short story describing what they would do if they lived in an igloo. Some stories included ideas on how they would survive. Some children came up with ideas such as making snow angels for beds, breaking ice to go ice fishing for food, and melting snow for water. Others focused on how they would entertain themselves. Some students said they would build a TV out of tools they made from ice and snow. Others decided to make snowmen for company, or find a wolf to be friends with. Students then colored an igloo to represent their artic home. This activity was a great way to explore creative writing and get in the holiday and winter spirit!
