Lower Bucks Genealogists Celebrates 10 Years

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, the group will be celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary.

Lower Bucks Genealogists is a community group dedicated to assisting others in the research and preservation of their family history and promoting an interest in genealogy. While located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, their goal is to connect families worldwide.

During the summer of 2008, co-founders Hope Callan-Beck and Barbara Jean May realized a need for a local group to be formed. Lectures and classes in nearby Philadelphia weren’t always relevant to their own research. The idea to form a local group of a sharing format vs. lecture format grew, and the ladies advertised online and found a space to hold their first meeting on October 11, 2008. To their surprise, approximately 20 people showed up. The group has been growing ever since.
