Middletown 'Shop With A Cop' Is Dec. 1

The police department program offers a shopping spree for local children in need. it's in its fourth year.

MIDDLETOWN, PA — Middletown Township Police are working to make sure some kids who could really use a happy holiday season this year will have one.

The department's 4th annual Shop With a Cop will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1. That day, officers from the department will take local children in need on a shopping spree.

They're currently asking for donations, as well as referrals to children who could benefit from the program. To qualify, kids ages 5-13 must be in the Neshaminy School District or referred by a participating police department.

They're looking to help kids facing a hardship like homelessness, loss of employment in the family, a military deployment and the like.

They say any donations to Shop With a Cop will go directly toward the kids.

"If your giving spirit has kicked into full gear now that the holidays are just around the corner, we hope that you'd consider this worthy cause," Middletown Police said in a social media post. "We serve the children and families in our own community and you will see and hear about all the good that your donation has done."
