Mosquito Spray To Be Held In Snowball Gate

An mosquito spray will be held in Middltown Township on Monday, Aug. 17, weather permitting. The spray will begin at dusk, the Bucks County Department of Health said.

The areas to be treated include the entire Snowball Gate section as well as Tanglewood Drive, Tall Tree Lane, Midway Avenue, Sunset Avenue and Nice Street, county officials said.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.

There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification. The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one ounce per acre.

According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment, the county said.
