Neshaminy Schools Closed Friday For Staff Shortages

No cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in the school system, officials said.

LANGHORNE, PA — All schools in the Neshaminy School District were closed on Friday due to what officials said was a staffing shortage.

The closure had been announced Thursday evening. In a message on its website, Neshaminy noted that no staff or student infections of the new coronavirus have been reported to the district.

"This closure is just due to staff shortages," the message said.

Private and tech school transportation was still provided and school offices and district offices were open.

Earlier Thursday, Neshaminy had canceled all extracurricular activities for the next month over coronavirus concerns.

All student field trips, staff professional development trips, evening school events and outside groups using school buildings have been postponed beginning Friday and running at least through the end of spring break, on Monday, April 13, school officials announced.
