BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — Ahead of a weekend storm that could bring six or more inches of snow to the Philadelphia area, authorities in Bristol Borough are trying to clear the streets.

Starting Sunday evening, parking will be prohibited on Mill Street and the 100 block of Radcliffe Street, police announced Friday. The parking ban will start at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the area is being cleared for snow removal.

The Weather Channel said Friday that the chances of a significant Northeast snowstorm "are increasing" but cautioned it was still too early to know where the storm will hit the hardest. There may be a sharp gradient between little snow and heavier snow along the northern edge of this storm, making snowfall predictions at this point difficult, The Weather Channel said.

The snow is expected to first arrive Sunday afternoon, with the heaviest accumulation coming Monday morning and impacting the morning commute, forecasters with the National Weather Service said.
