Strong Storms, Summer Heat Ahead For PA
We're going to get hit with strong storms before the heat sets in and the real summer finally starts in Pennsylvania.

We're going to get hit with strong storms before the heat sets in and the real summer finally starts in Pennsylvania. Indeed, a storm front will drop into the Northeast early this week and trigger bad weather this week, forecasters say.
Bouts of showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to plague the region through at least Thursday in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service has issued alerts for Monday, saying rain showers will continue to move into northeastern Maryland, northern Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey from the west this morning. Rainfall amounts should be only a few hundredths of an inch.

However, another storm is likely to follow on its heels and sweep more showers and thunderstorms from the Midwest to the Northeast Friday into Saturday. This storm is likely to not follow in the footsteps of the current storm and linger over the Midwest and Northeast into the following week.

AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Max Vido said in a release he expects a flip in the weather pattern to occur and open the door for summer heat to pour back in.

“From the end of May into the start of June, much of the warmth across the United States has been bottled up in the West and northern Plains,” Vido said.
Highs in early June typically range from the lower 70s in eastern New England to the middle 70s in the lower Great Lakes and within a couple degrees of 80 F in the mid-Atlantic. Temperatures should rebound back to more seasonable levels later this week as the storm should finally depart, according to AccuWeather.
By next week, widespread highs in the 80s may unfold with temperatures even soaring into the 90s, especially in the mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley, according to AccuWeather. “This will mark the most noticeable return of summer-like heat in the Northeast since the middle of May,” Vido said.
