Burglar Sought by Police in Produce Junction Robbery

Police say the man in this video smashed the glass door to the produce shop at Johnson Highway and Markley Street and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police are seeking the public's help in identify the man in this video, who they say broke into the El Primo Produce Junction at 1719 Markley Street sometime overnight Sunday and robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash and did over $1000 worth of damage.

Officers responded to the store at approximately 5:28 a.m. and met with the manager, who told them when he arrived at 5:15 a.m. on Monday morning, April 9, he found the glass door at the front of the door smashed and called 911.

Police investigating the scene found a rock inside the store that may have been used to break the glass and discovered that two cash registers inside the store had also been smashed open.

The owner of the store arrived and provided police with security camera footage showing the individual—a black or Hispanic male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt or jacket, dark pants and black and white sneakers—breaking the glass and entering the business.

The owner told police that cash was missing from the two registers and the damage to the front door could be as much as $1200.
