PHILADELPHIA, PA — Powerful storms are in the forecast for the greater Philadelphia region this week, as a spring and early summer of chaotic weather continues.

Rain is likely to begin at some point Tuesday afternoon and continuing into the evening, before thunderstroms arrive between 11 p.m. and midnight, the National Weather Service says. Rain up to a quarter of an inch could fall.

Thunderstorms and rain will continue into Wednesday, with another quarter inch of rain, forecasters said. Though storms will taper off by 2 p.m., higher amounts are possible in the heart of the thunderstorms.
