Historic Warmth, Powerful Winds As Wild Week On Tap For Philly Area
Record setting warmth, strong wind gusts, rain, and more are on tap as the weather takes a dramatic turn this week.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The abrupt shift in weather patterns in southeastern Pennsylvania this week could bring record-setting warmth to the region, as a wild and weird winter makes its latest dramatic pirouette.
The current high predicted for Thursday in Philadelphia is 64 degrees, which is just four degrees shy of the all-time record of 68 degrees set in 1976, according to AccuWeather. Records will be threatened throughout the region, as the warm front will challenge all-time highs everywhere from Raleigh, North Carolina to Boston.
In the greater Philadelphia area, the warm front will bring in a powerful storm front starting during the day on Thursday. Rain is possible during the day, with wind gusts starting at around 10 miles an hour and creeping up to 30 miles an hour.
