Christmas Tree Disposal In Norristown Area To Be Held In January
Towns throughout the Norristown area will begin to pick up Christmas trees this month. Here's what to know.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Now that the holidays are over, Christmas tree collection will begin in Norristown and municipalities throughout the area.
Trees should be left out on the curb next to the trash in order to be picked up. It must be free of all decorations, including any ornaments and tinsel. Do not place trees in plastic bags.
In past years, J.P. Mascaro has begun pickup of trees in Norristown in the first or second week of January. Call J.P. Mascaro at 1-800-432-1616 with any questions.

In West Norriton, collection will take place through January and into the first week of February.
In Whitemarsh, curbside pickup of trees begins on Jan. 2.

Crews will pick up across East Norriton throughout January. Trees should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of collection.
Bridgeport will host a one-day Christmas tree collection on Jan. 16.
In the meantime, the time between Christmas and New Years is when most Christmas tree fires happen, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The risk remains high after the New Year as trees dry out. Be sure to water your tree to prevent it from drying out and becoming fire-prone.
