Code Blue In Place Until Wednesday In Montgomery County
Frigid temperatures will continue, as more snow is on the way to Montgomery County. Here's what to expect this week.
NORRISTOWN, PA — With frigid temperatures expected to continue for another day and night across Montgomery County, officials have extended the Code Blue cold weather emergency.
The extension carries the declaration through Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 9 a.m.
Code Blue indicates that "winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter," officials said. Temperatures will continue to plummet tonight, before more snow is expected Wednesday.

Here's the forecast for the coming days, according to the National Weather Service:
- Tuesday: Snow likely before 11am, then rain and snow likely between 11am and noon, then a chance of rain after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
- Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. North wind around 5 mph.
- Wednesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 33. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
- Wednesday night: Snow likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
- Thursday: Snow likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
- Thursday night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 21. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
- Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 21. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
- Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15.
Temperatures will be in the teens the next few nights, with wind chills even lower. After the extra-cold spell passes, snow is likely to come late Sunday through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Over the next few days, residents should check in on the elderly and neighbors to make sure their homes are heated.

Pets should also have only limited outdoor time, and vehicles should be stocked with antifreeze and an emergency kit, as well as fully inflated tires.
