Council Candidates Holding Midnight Community Walk

Norristown Municipal Council candidates Marlon Millner and Mao Howell are asking residents to join them this Friday night for a community walk.

Mao Howell, candidate for one of Norristown's at-large council seats in this May's primary race, posted to his Facebook page recently calling on residents to join him and current Councilman and At-Large Candidate Marlon Millner this Friday, May 3 for a late night community walk in Norristown.

Millner mentioned his late-night forays into Norristown's neighborhoods to meet with residents at the recent Meet the Candidates forum at Theatre Horizon on Monday, April 29. There he called on other candidates and those in the audience to call on him anytime to take to the streets.

Millner, Howell and other walkers plan meet tonight at midnight a at George and West Marshall streets. According to Howell's post, the aim of the gathering is to "demonstrate that we care about the safety and security of all Norristown residents."

"There is no room for gang play in Norristown," wrote Howell. "So let’s stand together, as a community and take a walk to show our support for our residents, neighbors, friends, and children of this great town!"
