Elmwood Park Zoo's Nubian Goat, Leon, Passes Away
Sad news from Elmwood Zoo about a park favorite.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A longtime fixture at Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown has passed on.
Leon, the zoo's beloved Nubian goat, died recently, the zoo announced Monday.
Leon had battled conformational abnormalities in his front legs, which caused issues throughout his life, the zoo said. He was humanely euthanized due to complications related to the abnormalities last week. The zoo issued the following statement:

"Despite frequent hoof trims, anti-inflammatories, joint supplements, and other pain management tactics, his condition continued to worsen. After carefully observing him over time, veterinary staff observed significant discomfort from simply just walking around, and felt that his condition could not be improved. Leon was humanely euthanized late last week."
Leon was a longtime favorite in the zoo of both guest and staff. Zoo officials said he would be "missed sorely" and expressed their love for him.
