The shooting was discovered in the afternoon when the organization's executive director stopped by to pick up the mail.
The incident came on the day of the inauguration of President Joe Biden in Washington, D.C., and following weeks of online threats of violence after the riots at the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6.
"While today was a good day for the nation and the rule of law, I regret to inform you that also today someone shot three bullets into the office of MCDC through the front window," Foster said in a statement.
Someone fired shots through the window of our county Democratic office today. This is an inevitable result of Republicans stoking division, hatred, and violence. https://t.co/5TdD7GbTre
