High-Speed Car And Foot Chase Through Montco Ends In Arrest
After crashing on the Schuylkill Expressway, the robbery suspect ran across the highway and tried to carjack another vehicle, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A lengthy high-speed car and foot chase more closely resembling a scene from the Grand Theft Auto video game than a real life police pursuit ended last Friday with one man in custody.
The chase, which spanned several municipalities and ended with the suspect running across lanes of traffic on the Schuylkill Expressway in a carjacking attempt, left a trail of chaos and crashes in its wake.
The incident began in Norristown at around 3:30 p.m., Jan. 22.

Police from all three municipalities joined the chase, and the man was involved in at least two crashes in Bridgeport before making his way to Matsonford Road and eventually into the eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway, police said.
Once on 76, the Mercedes hit yet another vehicle, this time striking the barrier on the right side of the highway and coming to a rest. The suspect then hopped out of the car and started running down the highway, with several officers on foot in pursuit, authorities said.
Ultimately the man ran across lanes of the highway, jumped over the center median, and attempted to carjack another vehicle.
Conshohocken's Det. William Walters, West Conshohocken's Office Daniel Webster, and K-9 Lolli caught up to the man there and were able to take him into custody.
The suspect was taken back to Norristown and charged with robbery and numerous related offenses.
A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
