July's 'Crave Montco' Food Month Looks To Kickstart Local Economy
A special month-long event comes as the county's 1,800 restaurants and bars struggle to return from the pandemic's devastating effects.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A special upcoming event through the month of July will aim to kickstart the local restaurant and bar economy in Montgomery County, which is still recovering from the devastating impacts of the pandemic.
During each day of the promotion, the best of the county's many establishments will offer discounts, promotions, or a special menu.
"Crave Montco Month also features delivery and takeout specials, giving multiple ways for patrons to support these local restaurants," organizers said. "The VFTCB hopes Crave Monto Month will fulfill the appetite for getting out and experiencing the emotional connection to missed celebrations, connections, and moments we have all not been able to do for the past year at our favorite restaurants and eateries."

There are some 22,000 employees at the county's 1,850 restaurants and "makers," such as craft breweries, distilleries, and wineries.
"Restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries have been the settings for some of the most important moments in our lives," Convention Board CEO Mike Bowman said in a statement. "Now, it's our turn to be there for them, show them some love, and help support getting folks back to work."
