KOP Victim Of Storm Crash Remembered As 'Devoted' Family Man

King of Prussia's Geoffrey J. Schmidt, 58, died in an accident during last Friday's storm.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The King of Prussia man who passed away during last Friday's storm was remembered as a "devoted" and "loving" family man, according to his obituary.

Geoffrey J. Schmidt, 58, was driving his car in Upper Merion at around 7 p.m. when a tree fell on his windshield, crashing through the front seat.

Action News reports he was driving on South Gulph Road between Arden and Upper Gulph roads when the tree fell.

Geoffrey J. Schmidt, of King of Prussia, PA. passed away tragically in an automobile accident on March 2, 2018. He was 58.

Son of the late William Clark Schmidt and Mary Quinlan Schmidt, he was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on February 20, 1960.

Geoffrey was the loving husband of Ellen P. Schmidt (nee Brawley). Devoted father of William Clark Schmidt, II., Patrick Geoffrey Schmidt and Mary Kathleen Schmidt. Beloved brother of Leslie DeLigio, Susan Pie, Cindy Jennings (Tom), Lisa Boiani and the late Hank Schmidt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 9, 10 AM at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Historical Harriton House, directed to the Beekeeping Program, P.O. Box 1364, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
