Montco Golf Course Among Nation's Best: Golf Digest
The historic green was listed on Golf Digest's most recent roundup of the nation's top courses.
FLOURTOWN, PA — Flourtown's historic Philadelphia Cricket Club has again been named among the top golf courses in the nation in the latest ranking from Golf Digest.
The legendary local link placed 110th in America, one of several Montgomery County area courses to earn a similar distinction.
The course was founded by A.W. Tillinghast in 1922 and refurbished to its former glory in 2008. It is crossed by the Wissahickon Creek near the 18th hole, and

"Classic golf in its purest form. Philly Cricket oozes character and preserves its history well being Tillie’s home club...The aesthetics were gorgeous, and the ambiance was spectacular. The Tillinghast rock on 18? Makes me want to grab some hickory shafted clubs, head back out, and play from sunrise to sunset."
