Montco Issues 'Code Blue' As Cold Blast Hits Region
A Code Blue cold weather emergency has been declared in Montgomery County this week.
NORRISTOWN, PA — After weeks of mild weather, a Code Blue cold weather emergency has been declared in Montgomery County this week.
The declaration is in effect from Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 4 p.m. to Friday, Jan. 10 at 8 a.m. The Code Blue is issued when the temperature or wind chill is expected to drop below 20 degrees, putting anyone outside in potential danger.
Snow squalls hit around Montgomery County on Wednesday morning, bringing brief bursts of high winds and snow to the area. The low temperature was expected to drop into the teens overnight Wednesday, with a low of 25 on Thursday.
