Authorities recommend residents taking the following precautions in order to prepare for and weather the length of the storm, which could continue through Tuesday evening:

  • Bring loose objects from your porch or yard indoors as they could go flying and become dangerous when winds pick up
  • If your home is flood-prone, move valuables to the highest floors, and move vehicles to higher ground
  • Fully charge electronic devices

During a tornado watch, officials recommend you keep away from windows and doors, keep your cell phone with you, don't touch any debris, and move to an interior room in the lowest level of your home or building.
