Montco Towns With Most, Least COVID Increases As 4th Wave Goes On

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — As the fourth wave of coronavirus continues in Montgomery County, certain municipalities are seeing greater increases in case numbers than others.

The overall number of new cases actually saw a slight decrease last week in the county. There were 1,503 cases recorded last week, compared to 1,593 the week prior, according to the most recently available Department of Health data, covering the period up to April 15.

However, the county's percent positivity rate climbed from 8.5 to 8.7 percent, continuing a trend that's been ongoing for about a month.

The highly populated northeastern part of the county, including Abington, Cheltenham, and Upper Moreland continue to see the bulk of the cases. Other population centers like Norristown and Lansdale are faring a bit better, especially compared to earlier in the pandemic.
